Passion Week: The Day In Between

Passion Week - Part 6

Good Morning Church Family,

Later today, I plan to send out the Bible study guide for you to use tomorrow morning, but in the meantime I want to encourage you to be thinking about something throughout today in anticipation for Resurrection Day.

I want you to put yourselves in the shoes of Jesus’ followers: Jesus was crucified on a Friday, and due to the Sabbath beginning at night fall, they didn’t have time to give Him a proper Jewish burial. In addition to that, they wouldn’t have even been able to go to His tomb to mourn. It was as if God was telling them through the silence to wait for His timing. With that setting, imagine the sorrow, the thought battles, and the discussions that must have been going on amongst one another as to what just happened, and now what will happen next.

To us, death is such a certain thing. When a loved one dies, it’s all too easy to feel utter and irreversible loss. But because of what happens next, death is only the beginning to an eternity of what God has in store for those who have put their faith in the One who conquered death.
